What ULC Means
ULC is shown on Samsung’s WD53DBA900H-series Bespoke AI Laundry Combo service manual when foam is detected during the dehumidification part of the drying course, which the touch sensor inside the dryer can misread as water or another substance on its surface.
Common Causes of ULC
- Detergent or softener residue producing foam during the dry cycle
- Touch sensor inside the dryer coated with water or residue
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Run the dehumidification course again after removing any foam-causing residue: check that detergent or fabric softener has not carried over into the dry cycle, and wipe the touch sensor inside the drum with a damp cloth if it feels coated, letting it dry before running another cycle. If ULC keeps appearing with a clean sensor and no carried-over detergent, Samsung’s instruction is service.
