What oD Means
oD is named on Samsung’s US dryer article as the dry time error, listed among the codes for which Samsung gives only a name and its generic step of powering off for two to three minutes, restarting, and requesting service if it returns.
Common Causes of oD
- Cycle ran far beyond its expected time
- Moisture sensor bars coated so the dryer cannot tell the load is dry
- Restricted exhaust making drying very slow
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
With the dryer powered off for two to three minutes, restore power and run the cycle again. Because a dry-time problem is about the cycle running far past its expected length, also check the lint screen and the vent with the dryer off and cool, and wipe the moisture sensor bars inside the drum; a coated sensor or a blocked vent stretches every cycle. If oD returns with a clear vent and clean sensor, Samsung directs owners to service.

- A dryer that cannot finish a sensor cycle with a clear vent has a sensor or control problem that is tested, not guessed at.
