What PE Means
PE is the half load function error on Samsung’s US dishwasher article. Samsung’s step is to empty the dishwasher, add detergent and run a half load cycle so the control can retest the function. On a Samsung washer PE is the clutch position error, unrelated.

- Half-load diverter valve or motor problem
- Diverter position sensor problem
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Empty the racks, add detergent and run a half load cycle, as Samsung directs. If PE returns, use a full cycle in the meantime and have the half-load diverter tested; Samsung gives no further owner step.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The diverter is in the sump under the tub; it is reached with the dishwasher out of the cabinet.
