What TC5 / TC7 / TC8 / TCA / TCB Means
TC5, TC7, TC8, TCA and TCB are heat pump refrigerant-circuit thermistor errors on Samsung’s WD53DBA900H-series Bespoke AI Laundry Combo service manual: TC5 is the discharge refrigerant thermistor, TC7 and TC8 are the evaporator inlet and outlet thermistors, TCA is the compressor top thermistor, and TCB is the heater thermistor, each reporting a resistance outside its expected range. All five sit on the sealed heat pump system that dries clothing without a vent.
Common Causes of TC5 / TC7 / TC8 / TCA / TCB
- Named thermistor reading open, shorted or out of range
- Loose connector at the named thermistor
- Heat pump refrigerant circuit problem
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the Laundry Combo off, wait two to three minutes, and turn it back on before trying again. None of these five codes has an owner-level check beyond that restart: each names a sensor inside the sealed refrigerant circuit, and that circuit is opened and tested only by a technician.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- These thermistors are mounted inside the sealed heat pump refrigerant circuit; anyone working on that circuit needs the training and equipment for sealed-system service, not an owner repair.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
