What OC / 0C / oE Means
OC, 0C and oE are the over-level water error on Samsung’s US dishwasher article: more water in the tub than the cycle allows. Samsung points owners to its drain and overflow guide, which covers the disposal cap, the drain hose loop, the filter and the sink drain.
Common Causes of OC / 0C / oE
- Drain hose or disposal blocked so the tub cannot empty between fills
- Inlet valve not closing
- Water level sensor misreading
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
With the dishwasher switched off at the breaker and the water inside cooled, check that the drain hose has a high loop or air gap and is not kinked, that a recently fitted disposal had its knockout removed, and that the filter and sump are clean and the filter fully refitted. Restore power and run a cycle. If the tub overfills again, the inlet valve may be staying open or the level sensor misreading, and Samsung directs owners to service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- An inlet valve that sticks open will flood the kitchen the next time; it is replaced with the water off and the dishwasher partly out.
