What tE Means
tE is the temperature sensor error on Samsung’s US dishwasher article: the thermistor is reading outside its range. Samsung’s step is to empty the dishwasher, add detergent and run a Normal cycle. On a Samsung washer tE is also a temperature sensor, but in the wash water of a different machine, and on a microwave TE means touch communication.
Common Causes of tE
- Thermistor open or shorted
- Thermistor connector loose or corroded
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Empty the racks, add detergent and run a Normal cycle so the control can re-read the sensor through a full fill and heat. If tE returns, the thermistor or its wiring under the tub needs a technician; Samsung gives no further owner step.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The thermistor sits in the sump beneath the tub; testing it means the base open and the power isolated.
