What 9C1 / PF / 2E Means
Samsung’s US article groups 9C1, 9C2, PF, 3E, 2E, 9E1, 9E2, UC, 19C1 and 19C2 as voltage or power errors, an irregularity in the electrical supply to the washer. PF in particular appears after a power outage, an unplugging or a tripped breaker. Samsung adds that 3E is a voltage error on some models and a motor error on others, and sends owners to the manual for their model to tell which.
Common Causes of 9C1 / PF / 2E
- Power outage, brownout or tripped breaker during a cycle
- Extension cord or shared circuit sagging under load
- Loose outlet or house wiring connection
- Power board in the washer misreading supply
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Confirm the washer is on its own outlet and not on an extension cord or a shared circuit, then, with the washer unplugged for one minute, restore power and restart the cycle. A PF after a known outage needs nothing more than a restart. If the group code returns with the machine on a dedicated circuit and no outage, Samsung’s instruction is to request service; the problem may be in the supply to the house or in the washer’s power board, and telling which takes measurements.

- Checking supply voltage at the washer under load is a live measurement; the board that reads it is behind the rear panel.
