What SDC / 5DC Means
SDC or 5DC means the detergent drawer is not completely closed, per Samsung’s US article, which notes that the drawer clicks when it is fully home. It is a notice, not an error.

- Drawer left partly open after dosing
- Caked detergent stopping the drawer from seating
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Push the detergent drawer in until it clicks, then restart. If it will not seat, pull it fully out, rinse away caked detergent or softener from the drawer and its housing, dry it, and refit it squarely on its rails.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Only a drawer that seats fully and still triggers SDC points at its sensor, and that is rare enough to confirm before booking.
