PC and PE are the clutch position error on Samsung’s US washer article, and PC1 and PE1 the clutch hall sensor error, both listed with a name and one generic step. These belong to top-load models, whose clutch shifts the drive between agitate and spin. 🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
With the washer powered off for two to three minutes, restore power and run a spin-only cycle with the drum empty, listening for the clutch to shift before the spin. If the code returns, Samsung directs owners to service. There is no owner adjustment for the clutch.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The clutch is under the tub on the motor shaft, reached by laying the machine down or removing the tub; it is heavy, awkward work with the drive exposed.
