What Clg / Cg Means
Clg, Cl9, Cg and C9 are results of Samsung’s vent blockage test, not error codes: per the US dryer article they mean the vent is clogged. The dryer is measuring its own exhaust path and reporting what it found. Samsung’s response is to clean the lint filter and the exhaust vent.
Common Causes of Clg / Cg
- Lint packed in the duct or at the outside hood
- Duct crushed behind the dryer or too long with too many bends
- Outside flap stuck shut or screened over
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
With the dryer switched off and cool, clean the lint screen and the housing under it. Then, with the dryer unplugged or its breaker off and pulled forward, disconnect the duct behind it and clear the flexible section, the wall duct and the outside hood, replacing any crushed foil duct with rigid or semi-rigid metal. Reconnect, restore power and run the vent test again from the panel. A result that does not improve means the blockage is deeper in the run than you can reach.

- Nothing on the dryer is broken; a long duct through a wall or roof is a duct-cleaning job, not an appliance repair.
