What 3C Means
3C is named as the motor error on Samsung’s US dryer article, in the section of codes for which Samsung gives one generic step: power off for two to three minutes, restart, consult the manual, and request service if it returns. The article gives no more than the name, and this entry does not add a diagnosis.
Common Causes of 3C
- Drum overloaded or an object jammed between drum and cabinet
- Drive motor or its centrifugal switch at problem
- Control not receiving motor feedback
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
With the dryer powered off for two to three minutes, restore power and start a cycle. Before that, check that the drum is not overloaded and turns freely by hand with the dryer off, since a jammed drum stops the motor as surely as a failed one. If 3C returns, Samsung directs owners to service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The motor sits under the drum with the belt and idler; testing it means the cabinet open and the belt off.
