What 24E Means
Independent repair sources describe 24E as a freezer defrost cycle that did not complete: the heater, the defrost sensor or a fuse in that circuit is not doing its job, so frost keeps building on the evaporator instead of clearing on schedule.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check that the freezer door is sealing fully across its whole gasket, since a door left ajar feeds the same kind of frost build-up. Beyond that there is no owner fix: the defrost heater and sensor are wired into the control behind the interior back panel, and opening that circuit to test them is a technician’s job. Do not chip or pick at ice near the coil to try to clear it yourself.
