What OF OF Means
OF OF, O FF, OFF OFF or temperature bars scrolling back and forth mean the refrigerator is in Cooling Off mode, which Samsung’s US article also calls Demo mode or Shop mode. The cooling system, the ice maker and the water dispenser are switched off while the lights and display work, and Samsung states that service is not required. On Family Hub models the Fridge Manager app shows every compartment as OFF.

- Button combination pressed by accident while cleaning the panel
- Demo mode left on from the showroom or after delivery
- Mode re-entered during a power interruption on some models
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
The exit sequence depends on where the control panel is, and Samsung’s article lists them: on left-door panels, hold the top two buttons (older models) or the top two plus the top right button (newer models) for about eight seconds until a chime sounds; on Family Hub models go to Apps, Fridge Manager, Fridge Settings, then Cooling Off and Deactivate; on door-frame panels hold Power Freeze and Freezer for eight seconds, adding Fridge if that does not work; on inside-right-wall and Bespoke panels hold the left and right arrows for six seconds and press the middle button. If your panel matches none of these, the owner’s manual for the model gives the combination.

- Nothing is broken. Samsung says service is not required, and a technician’s visit for OF OF is a button sequence you can do in a minute.
