What 4C2 / 4E2 / CE / nF1 Means
Samsung’s US article groups 4C2, 4E2, CE, 14C2 and nF1 as the hot and cold swap error: the water arriving at the cold inlet is far hotter than cold should be, almost always because the supply hoses are connected the wrong way round.

- Supply hoses connected to the wrong inlets at installation
- Hot and cold taps reversed at the wall
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
With both taps closed, swap the hoses so the cold supply feeds the cold inlet and the hot supply feeds the hot inlet; on most Samsung machines the inlets and hose ends are color-coded blue and red. Open the taps, check for drips at the connections, and start a cycle. If the hoses were already correct and the code persists, the hot and cold taps themselves may be plumbed in reverse, which is a plumber’s job rather than a washer problem.
