What DC5 Means
DC5 is the auto-open door code on Samsung’s WD53DBA900H-series Bespoke AI Laundry Combo service manual: the automatic door-opening feature has failed to operate. This is a different number from DC6, which Samsung’s manual for the earlier WD90F53AVS/US platform uses for the same Auto Open Door feature; check which service manual matches your model before assuming the number.
Common Causes of DC5
- Not enough clearance for the door to swing open
- Door opener motor or its part problem
- Main board not driving the opener correctly
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Make sure there is enough space in front of the machine for the door to swing open, and wait, since the automatic opener needs room to work. If you need the door open right away, turning the power off releases it, the same step Samsung gives for the older DC6 code. Turn the Laundry Combo off, wait two to three minutes, and turn it back on before trying again.
