The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo puts washing and drying into one drum, which means the heat-pump condenser and its sensors, or the exhaust heater on the vented version, sit inside the same cabinet as the fill valves, the drain pump and the drum bearings. A drying-side problem therefore has to be reached past the washing side, and a code on the display is read as belonging to one or the other before anything is opened. Samsung lists the combo’s leading-1 code spellings on the same support page as its washers, and we read them there rather than guessing at a dryer-only meaning.

The Bespoke AI Laundry Hub is the other approach: a washer and a dryer each with its own drum and drive, stacked in a single cabinet under one shared control. It looks like two machines and is diagnosed as one, since the shared control is where both halves report and where a problem in one can masquerade as a problem in the other.

With the breaker off and the supply taps closed, we open the combo’s pump-filter door over a pan before any other panel, since water sits in the drum and hoses after an interrupted cycle, and on the Laundry Hub we test the shared board and the interconnect before assigning a problem to either section.

A heat-pump dryer runs cooler by design and takes longer than a vented one, so a longer dry phase on the ventless Laundry Combo is expected. What is not expected is a load that is still wet at the end, or a dry phase that grows longer week by week - that pattern points at a blocked condenser or lint path, a heat-pump sensor or a condensate drain that is backing up. If you want dryer times closer to a conventional machine, the vented version of the combo is the one Samsung sells for that.

Samsung’s US washer support page lists these leading-1 spellings alongside the ordinary washer codes, and the meaning follows the code that comes after the 1 - so 1 dC is a door not detected as closed and locked, 1 4C a fill problem, 1 HC a heater problem. Read the whole string off the display and tell us exactly what it shows when you book; it decides whether the visit is about the wash side or the drying side of a machine where both live in one cabinet.

As one. The washer below and the dryer above share a single control panel and pass their problem information through it, so a problem reported on the dryer half can originate in the shared control or the connection between the two. We look at both halves and that connection before treating a problem as belonging to one side, and we confirm the exact model, because the Laundry Hub is new to Samsung’s US lineup and its parts are not the same as a freestanding washer and dryer stacked on a kit.
