A side-by-side like the RS27T5200 moves cold air from the freezer side across to the fresh-food side through a single damper, and when that damper or the evaporator fan stalls the fresh-food side warms while the freezer stays cold.
On the RS27T5200, an OF OF or scrolling-bar display is checked first – it is Cooling Off mode, not a problem – and only then does the visit move to the fan, defrost and control tests with the refrigerator isolated at the breaker.
