What 41 / 42 Means
On a Family Hub refrigerator, Samsung’s US article says a 41 or 42 on the screen, with the interior blue lights flashing, is a Family Hub display problem rather than a cooling problem, and its remedy is to reboot the Family Hub with the power switch located inside, at the top of the right door.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
This is a screen problem, and the owner fix is the one Samsung gives: with the right-hand door open, find the small Family Hub power switch at the top of the door, switch it off, wait a few seconds and switch it on again, then let the screen boot fully. The cooling side keeps running throughout, so there is nothing to move out of the refrigerator first.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If the reboot does not clear 41 or 42, the screen module or its connection to the main board is the suspect, and neither is reached without removing door trim.
