What FC / FE Means
FC, FE and 1 FC are the frequency error on Samsung’s US dryer article: the control has detected an invalid power source frequency. Samsung’s step is to restart the cycle and to request service if it remains.
Common Causes of FC / FE
- Generator or inverter supply with an unstable frequency
- Control board misreading the supply
- Model built for a market with a different supply frequency
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Restart the cycle. If the dryer is running from a generator or an inverter during an outage, that is the likely reason, and the code should clear once it is back on utility power. On utility power with the code returning, Samsung directs owners to service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Supply frequency is nothing an owner can adjust at the dryer; a board that misreads it is replaced, not tuned.
