What -dE- / -dC- Means
-dE- and -dC- on a Samsung Flex Duo or Twin-mode range and wall oven mean the removable partition is not seated where the control needs it for the mode selected. Samsung’s fix is mechanical: the partition has to sit in the correct slot from the top - the third position on electric and dual-fuel ovens, the fourth on gas - with nothing blocking the switch that senses it.
Common Causes of -dE- / -dC-
- Partition removed and reinstalled in the wrong slot
- Rack or item obstructing the partition’s sensing switch
- Partition sensing switch failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
With the oven off and cool, slide the partition out, check its rails and the switch area for a dropped rack or spilled item, then reinsert it fully into the third slot from the top on an electric or dual-fuel oven, or the fourth on a gas oven, until it locks level. Select the single-oven or twin-oven mode that matches whether the partition is in or out. If -dE- or -dC- shows again with the partition seated and level, the sensing switch itself needs testing.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The switch that reads the partition is built into the oven wall behind the rail slots, and confirming it has failed means testing it in place with the power isolated.
