What tESt / tE5t Means
tESt or tE5t on a Samsung range means the range is in Demo mode: the display and controls light up but the oven will not heat, and on electric and induction models the cooktop will not heat either. Gas cooktop burners can still ignite in this mode; only the oven and the electric or induction cooktop stay cold.
Common Causes of tESt / tE5t
- Demo mode left on from the showroom setting
- Button combination triggered accidentally while cleaning the control panel
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check your model’s owner’s manual for the button-and-hold combination that exits Demo mode; it is usually two control buttons held together for several seconds and is easy to trigger by accident while wiping the panel. Exiting the mode restores normal heating with no parts involved.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Nothing on the range needs repair; a service call for tESt would be spent looking up the same exit combination in the manual.
