What C-10 Means
C-10 on a Samsung range or wall oven is the temperature sensor reading during the range’s own self-diagnosis, often triggered while testing a SmartThings app connection. Samsung’s article says it does not indicate an actual defect if the oven goes on to heat normally afterward.
Common Causes of C-10
- Self-diagnosis or SmartThings app connectivity test flagging a momentary sensor reading
- Genuine temperature sensor problem, only if the oven does not heat normally afterward
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Run the oven and confirm it reaches and holds temperature normally; if it does, C-10 was the self-diagnosis flagging a momentary reading and no action is needed. Only if the oven fails to heat, or C-10 keeps returning during normal cooking rather than only during a diagnostic or app-connection check, does the sensor itself need testing.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Samsung’s own article says this display can be ignored once the oven heats normally, so replacing the sensor on the code alone would be swapping a working part.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
