What C-24 Means
C-24 on Samsung’s US range and wall oven article means the cavity’s temperature is climbing faster than the control expects it to. Samsung’s own fix starts outside the oven: clear anything blocking the vent at the back of the range, then either open and close the door a few times during the cook or switch the oven off and prop the door for a minute to let it cool before continuing.
Common Causes of C-24
- Rear vent blocked by the range’s position against the wall or by something stored behind it
- Oven temperature sensor reading high or drifting
- Bake or broil element relay stuck closed and overheating the cavity
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
With the range off, pull it out enough to check that the rear vent is not pressed against a wall, backsplash gap filler or stored pan. Reseat the range with clearance behind it, then run the oven again and watch whether opening the door briefly clears the code. If C-24 returns with the vent clear and the door working, the temperature sensor or a stuck heating relay is the next thing a technician checks.

- The temperature sensor and its wiring run behind the oven’s rear wall, and testing them means pulling the range and opening a panel that also carries the heating circuit.
